EAGLE
Leon Buynevic
50 x 100 cm

The painting is a landscape split between two realms.
A large winged figure stretches across the upper canvas. With a simplified
architectural base that sits beneath, grounded in cooler tones.
The contrast suggests a dialogue between the earth and sky, material and
spiritual, and the man-made vs. the transcendent.
The dominant feature is a large bird spanning the width of the canvas.
The Bird represents freedom, ascension, protection, and transcendence. It’s
Halo over its head, representing spirituality, divinity, and a search for
enlightenment.
Mechanical/structural elements embedded in the body are a fusion of the
organic and industrial. Symbolising a guardian figure watching over the
evolution of the age.
The colour palette suggests energy, passion, and vitality. Contrasted with
distance, calm and emotional space.
The upper section feels alive and expressive. The lower section feels grounded,
restrained, even institutional.
The red dotted lines connecting each section are deliberate — like arteries or
conduits. It hints at energy transfer or communication between worlds.
Ultimately, a guardian spirit, watching over modern civilisation. And the tension
between technology and spirituality.
